Why it matters
AgiBot is the Shanghai company that the 2026 shipment trackers put ahead of Unitree, which this site already covers. It is not a lab prototype. The company says a 15,000th general-purpose robot came off the line in June 2026, and it says a G2 is working on Longcheer's electronics line.
The lead is real as a ranking and messy as a number. AgiBot's own August 20 release cites Counterpoint for about 9,700 first-half shipments and more than 43 percent of a market above 22,000. Ten days earlier SCMP cited Smart Analytics Global for roughly 8,400 shipments and 44 percent. Both can be 'first.' They are not the same count, and neither is the 15,000 factory roll-off.
Who runs it
The leadership page lists Deng Taihua as founder, chairman of the board, and CEO, and Peng Zhihui as co-founder, president, and CTO. Peng is the public face. He is not the CEO on that page. TIME's August 2026 profile uses the same CEO title for Deng.
The about page puts founding in February 2023. TIME's profile is the one that calls the company Shanghai-based in the pages tied to this section. There is no parent company on the leadership page.
Three robots, and a model underneath
The machines the company is pointing at in 2026 are the full-size A3, the industrial G2, and the smaller X2. The August 20 note is specific about the G2: it is on a Longcheer production line. It is also specific that X2 robots are in service and research. The about page dates GO-1, the first embodied foundation model, to March 2025. TIME says GO-2 followed in April 2026.
SAG's shipment math, as SCMP reports it, folds in wheeled G-series robots along with bipedal A-series and compact X-series machines. A ranking that includes those wheeled robots is not a count of bipeds only.
What the volume numbers are
Keep four figures apart. Factory: 10,000th robot in March 2026 and 15,000th in June 2026, from the company's milestone page. Counterpoint, via the company on August 20: about 9,700 first-half 2026 shipments, more than 43 percent, global market above 22,000. Smart Analytics Global, via SCMP on August 10: about 8,400 first-half shipments, 44 percent, with Unitree at about 5,900 and 31 percent. TIME, for 2025: 5,100 units shipped.
None of these is audited revenue. No prospectus or profit figure was opened. A public-listing push is something SCMP reported on August 10, in the same story as the SAG ranking. It is not a priced offering.
What to watch
The useful test is whether the G2 work at Longcheer, and any similar lines, turns into a published count of robots doing shifts, rather than another cumulative roll-off. The 15,000 figure will keep rising. It will not, by itself, say how many robots are earning their keep.
The other test is the listing. SCMP said in August that AgiBot was preparing to go public. Until a prospectus exists, valuation headlines and sponsor names are not company facts. The same caution applies to any single shipment crown. Counterpoint and Smart Analytics Global were 1,300 units apart for the same half, and SAG's universe includes wheeled robots.
