The company
Alphabet is the parent of Google. The FY2025 Form 10-K says Google was incorporated in California in September 1998, reincorporated in Delaware in August 2003, and that a 2015 holding-company reorganization made Alphabet Inc. the successor issuer. The October 6, 2026 investor note says Larry Page and Sergey Brin founded Google in September 1998 and that the company is headquartered in Mountain View. Sundar Pichai is CEO of Alphabet and Google. The corporate site used here is abc.xyz.
Second quarter of 2026
The July 22, 2026 earnings release reports consolidated revenue of $119.8 billion for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, up 24%, or 23% in constant currency. The statement line is $119,796 million. Operating income was $40,770 million, up 30%, and the operating margin was 34%. Google Services revenue was $94,540 million, up 15%. Google Search and other was $63,271 million, and the release says that line grew 17%. These figures are the latest reported quarter. The October 28, 2026 call had not happened when this page was written.
Cloud, and the gain that is not operating profit
Google Cloud revenue was $24,768 million, up 82% from $13,624 million, and Cloud operating income was $8,814 million. The release says Cloud growth was led by Google Cloud Platform, including enterprise AI, and that Cloud also sells TPU systems. Purchases of property and equipment were $44,924 million in the quarter. Other income of $97,983 million was primarily unrealized gains on equity securities. That gain lifted net income and is not operating income.
People and the next print
The Q2 supplemental table lists 198,933 employees for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, against 187,103 a year earlier. The release does not add the words "as of." Alphabet said on October 6, 2026 that it will discuss third-quarter results on October 28, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time, and that the release will be posted on abc.xyz/investor before the call.
