The company
Amazon.com, Inc. lists its principal executive offices at 410 Terry Avenue North, Seattle, Washington. The FY2025 Form 10-K says Jeffrey P. Bezos founded Amazon.com in 1994 and that Andrew R. Jassy has been president and chief executive officer since July 2021. Matthew S. Garman has been CEO of Amazon Web Services since June 2024. Douglas J. Herrington has been CEO of Worldwide Amazon Stores since July 2022. The company site used here is amazon.com.
Second quarter of 2026
The July 30, 2026 release says second-quarter net sales increased 20% to $200.6 billion, from $167.7 billion, including only about $0.1 billion of favorable foreign exchange, so growth was also 20% excluding that effect. Operating income increased to $27.5 billion, from $19.2 billion. North America segment sales were $116.2 billion, up 16%. International segment sales were $42.2 billion, up 15%.
AWS
AWS segment sales increased 37% to $42.2 billion on the release headline. Jassy's quote in the same release says AWS grew 36.7% year over year, the fastest growth in 18 quarters, and that the AI business and the chips business each passed a run rate of more than $25 billion. Those run rates are annualized commentary, not the quarterly AWS sales line. A later cash capital-expenditure guide discussed on the earnings call is not restated here because it was not in the release page used for this profile.
Stores
Worldwide Amazon Stores is a consumer business led by Douglas J. Herrington. The 10-K says the retail competitive factors are selection, price, and convenience. The Q2 release reports North America segment sales of $116.2 billion. That segment is wider than online stores. A separate online-stores dollar line is not copied here. Amazon Leo, the satellite business, already has its own page and is not a product on this one.
People and what is still open
The FY2025 Form 10-K says Amazon employed approximately 1,576,000 full-time and part-time employees as of December 31, 2025, excluding the contractors and temporary personnel the filing says are used in addition. A later quarterly headcount was not taken from a page reopened for this profile. Q3 2026 results were not in the July 30 release. This profile has no logo.
