Anthropic rolls out local rupee pricing for Claude in India

Anthropic began showing localized rupee pricing for Claude subscriptions to Indian users on July 13, its first such localization outside the United States and a bid to grow in what it says is its second-largest market, accounting for 5.8% of global Claude usage. Claude Pro is now listed at ₹2,000 per month on annual billing (₹2,399 monthly), with Max tiers at ₹11,999 and ₹23,999, and the posted prices include India's 18% GST while sparing users the 2–3% foreign-transaction fees they previously paid on dollar charges. Anthropic has not yet enabled payments through India's UPI network, so subscribers still pay by card or app-store billing.
