OpenAI partners with American Psychological Association on teen safety
OpenAI announced a partnership with the American Psychological Association on August 6 to develop evidence-based safeguards as AI adoption among teenagers grows, combining psychological science and clinical expertise to guide ChatGPT's design. The collaboration will focus on how AI can responsibly support young people during emotional distress, help parents navigate AI use at home, and equip clinicians and educators to spot signs of overreliance.
