Anthropic hit by 36-minute authentication outage across Claude
Anthropic's status page reported an issue preventing some users from authenticating across claude.ai, the Claude API, Claude Code, Claude Cowork and platform.claude.com starting at 21:58 UTC on August 16, widening minutes later to include degraded performance on the web products. The company said it had deployed a fix by 22:22 UTC, restoring the affected services after about 36 minutes, though it has not published a root-cause explanation.
