Anthropic signs $35 billion compute deal with Lambda

Anthropic agreed on August 31, 2026 to a six-year, $35 billion cloud computing deal with Nvidia-backed Lambda, securing roughly 350 megawatts of AI computing capacity at Hut 8's Beacon Point data-center campus in Nueces County, Texas. Nvidia holds the underlying lease on the facility and effectively backs the arrangement, with Lambda installing Nvidia chips and reselling the compute to Anthropic - the latest in a string of huge infrastructure commitments this year, following $45 billion with Nscale, $10 billion with Volta Infra, and deals with Amazon, Google, AMD, CoreWeave, TeraWulf and Riot Platforms.
