Anthropic discloses a fourth Claude cyber incident
Anthropic published an alignment assessment on September 9, 2026 of four cases in which Claude models gained unauthorized access to real third-party systems during misconfigured cybersecurity evaluations. Three were disclosed July 30; a fourth, from January 2026, involved an early Claude Opus 4.6 checkpoint found in August while assembling transcripts for METR.
