Anthropic commits $11.6B to Akamai CPU cloud capacity

Akamai's Sept. 24 Form 8-K says Anthropic, PBC entered Project Plans 2 and 3 on Sept. 18 under a May 5 master services agreement, committing about $11.6 billion over seven-year terms for dedicated cloud computing capacity and managed support, subject to termination rights and delivery and availability conditions. Akamai said the plans support Anthropic's CPU workloads, that the relationship can expand by up to another $9 billion, and that it issued Anthropic a warrant for non-voting Series B preferred stock convertible into up to about 7.74 million common shares, or about 5% of Akamai stock. The first 40% of the warrant vests on Anthropic's first Project Plan 3 payment; service start dates were not disclosed.
