Anthropic rebuilds Claude Code Projects around parallel agents

Anthropic relaunched Projects in Claude Code on September 17 as a way to run a team of coding agents under one goal, with a coordinator that scopes a request, splits it across parallel threads, reviews the outputs and assembles the finished result. Each thread is a full Claude Code cloud session working on its own branch and copy of the repository, threads share project memory and files, and any overlap between them is resolved as an ordinary merge conflict; individual threads can further subdivide work using subagents, loops and workflows. The beta opened to select Pro and Max subscribers who use cloud sessions and have no existing web or desktop projects, expanding to more Pro and Max users over the following week and to Team and Enterprise later, and Anthropic warned that because every thread counts as a full session, projects will hit plan usage limits sooner.
