Anthropic and Accenture start embedded AI evaluation

Anthropic said on September 18 it is partnering with Accenture on independent evaluation of frontier models, an early step on the embedded-evaluator commitment in CEO Dario Amodei's Pace the Frontier essay. Faculty, Accenture's specialist AI business, will lead red-teaming, alignment assessments, and safeguard testing from inside Anthropic with access comparable to an employee; each company expects to invest at least $1 billion over five years, and Anthropic will fund Accenture's work directly because pooled or government evaluator funding does not yet exist. The partnership is non-exclusive: Anthropic said it is in talks with METR and other nonprofit evaluators, will name more partners in coming weeks, and that Accenture will work with other AI developers in similar roles.
