Wing starts Lowe's drone deliveries from a Charlotte-area store

Lowe's said on September 24 that a drone-delivery pilot is live at its Matthews, North Carolina store, with orders placed in the DoorDash app and flown by Alphabet's Wing in as fast as 20 minutes. CNBC said more than 100 SKUs are eligible, drones carry about 2.5 pounds, and the service covers about 5 miles from the store, with possible expansion if the test works. Lowe's and DoorDash are untracked; Wing already flies DoorDash in the Charlotte area.
