Germany funds tens of thousands of Quantum interceptors

Chancellor Friedrich Merz said in Kyiv on 4 October that Germany is putting about 1 billion euros of additional military aid on the path, including funds for joint production of anti-jet drones. Quantum Systems said Berlin will finance several tens of thousands of interceptor drones made in Ukraine by Quantum WIY Industries, scaling systems already in operational use as part of the winter 2026/2027 aid package. Merz did not publicly name the manufacturer or a unit count, and Quantum did not publish its share of an envelope that also covers other weapons.
