Anthropic ships Claude Haiku 5.5 and cuts Sonnet cache price
On Oct. 7, 2026 Anthropic released Claude Haiku 5.5, calling it its cheapest, fastest, and most capable small model, on AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and the Claude Platform as claude-haiku-5-5. Input is $0.10 per million tokens for prompts up to 100,000 tokens and $0.50 above that; output is $0.50 and $2.50. Anthropic said the model costs about 75% less to run than Haiku 4.5 on average. It also halved Sonnet 5.5 cache reads to $0.10 per million tokens and said Max and Team subscribers will receive monthly API credits this week.
