Anthropic embeds a METR team with publication rights
On Oct. 15, 2026 Anthropic said it onboarded six employees from the nonprofit METR with company hardware, office space, and internal-tool access roughly on par with Anthropic's risk teams. Anthropic said METR will publish assessments of risks, incidents, and practices, that Anthropic cannot veto publication, and that it can require redaction of narrow categories such as customer data, privileged material, and model architectures. Anthropic also named SecureBio, Accenture, and Faculty as other evaluator relationships, and said talks with Hugging Face are early.
