Anthropic leases EverWind's first Point Tupper data-centre phase
On Oct. 16, 2026, EverWind said it signed a long-term lease with an unnamed leading frontier AI developer for the initial phase of a data-centre campus at Point Tupper, Nova Scotia. CBC identified the tenant as Anthropic and reported that Anthropic will lease that first phase for at least 20 years. A Reuters report said an Anthropic executive described the deal as the company's first data-centre agreement in Canada. EverWind plans a 95 MW phase in late 2027 and a 325 MW expansion targeted for 2028, reaching 420 MW, and said the campus plus wind projects represent more than $10 billion of private investment. Reuters described that plan as more than C$10 billion. EverWind will own the campus. Anthropic's own release was not found on its news index.
