Kairos says it produced about 8 metric tons of Flibe for ETU 2
Kairos said on Oct. 29 that it finished a second Flibe production run at its Molten Salt Purification Plant in Elmore, Ohio, making about 8 metric tons for non-nuclear Engineering Test Unit 2. It will ship the salt to Albuquerque and combine it with Flibe used in ETU 1, for about 16 metric tons, and says ETU 2 operations are early next year. A Sept. 16 company post had expected that hardware demonstration to start later in 2026. Kairos calls the coming test the world's largest Flibe system. No independent measurement of the tonnage was found.
