Moderna doses first patient in mRNA-4200 solid-tumor trial

Moderna said on July 16 it dosed the first U.S. participant in a Phase 1 trial of mRNA-4200, an off-the-shelf tumor-targeted cancer antigen therapy given alongside checkpoint-inhibitor treatment in adults with advanced or metastatic solid tumors. The candidate encodes seven antigens commonly shared across patients and tumor types and is designed to induce and expand T-cell responses; it is Moderna's third off-the-shelf cancer antigen therapy and was developed with Immatics. The open-label, multicenter, dose-escalation study will evaluate the therapy's safety and tolerability.
