Baidu's Apollo Go begins robotaxi testing in London

Baidu's Apollo Go started road testing its sixth-generation RT6 robotaxi in London on July 28, partnering with Freenow (owned by Lyft) and with Uber, in the borough of Brent. Vehicles operate with safety drivers on board covering a mix of urban and suburban routes, with public rides targeted for 2027 pending regulatory approval. The launch makes Apollo Go the first Chinese autonomous-driving operator tested on UK roads, joining Waymo and an Uber-Wayve partnership already trialing in the city.
