FCC bans imports of Chinese-made grid inverters, citing security

The US Federal Communications Commission issued a rule on July 28 banning new imports of Chinese-made, grid-connected power inverters after finding undocumented components, including cellular radios, that officials said could enable remote access or grid disruption. Sungrow is named alongside Huawei among the Chinese inverter makers cut off from new US sales, closing off a market it had already been retreating from in favor of Europe.
