FCC adds foreign humanoid and quadruped robots to Covered List
The FCC added foreign-produced advanced robotic devices, including mobile humanoids and quadrupeds over 4.4 pounds, to its Covered List on July 28, citing national-security and supply-chain risk. New models generally cannot get the FCC equipment authorization needed to import or sell in the US unless the Department of War grants a Conditional Approval, a direct hurdle for Unitree Robotics, which opened commercial sales in Europe on July 22 and had targeted a North American launch for August 12.
