Waymo adds Gemini AI assistant to Ojai robotaxi interface
Waymo announced on July 29 that its Ojai robotaxi is getting a Gemini-powered in-car assistant alongside a redesigned interface with bigger screens and buttons. Gemini answers questions about the neighborhood and points of interest, gives journey information, and handles cabin controls like air conditioning or requesting a stop, though it does not control the driving itself; early access is live now with a broader rollout to more riders planned in the coming weeks.
