Judge halts Waymo's overnight charging at two Santa Monica lots

An LA County Superior Court judge granted the City of Santa Monica's request for a preliminary injunction on July 27, 2026, ruling that around-the-clock noise, lights, and traffic at Waymo's two Broadway charging and servicing lots amount to a public nuisance. Waymo is barred from operating the two sites between 11pm and 6am while the case proceeds toward an October 23 status conference.
