Joby partners with ex-Uber CEO's Atoms to build vertiports
Joby Aviation and Atoms, led by former Uber CEO Travis Kalanick, announced a definitive agreement on August 4 to acquire and develop a network of vertiport sites across the U.S., anchored by Joby's open-source Global Electric Aviation Charging System. The partnership starts in Florida, New York and Texas, the markets where Joby is preparing early eVTOL Integration Pilot Program operations, as well as California, with the vertiports designed as multimodal hubs linking air taxis, autonomous ground vehicles and ridesharing.
