Varda adds ex-Pfizer R&D chief Mikael Dolsten to its board
Varda Space Industries announced on August 3 that Mikael Dolsten, who spent 16 years as Chief Scientific Officer and President of Pfizer R&D overseeing more than 36 medicine and vaccine approvals, is joining its board of directors. Varda said Dolsten's experience translating early-stage science into approved medicines will support its push to commercialize space-based pharmaceutical manufacturing, coming three months after publicly traded United Therapeutics became the first pharma company to fund its own microgravity drug-development program on Varda's W-Series capsules.
