SpaceX's first post-IPO lock-up expiration frees $100B in shares

SpaceX's initial post-IPO lock-up expired on August 6, freeing up to 911.5 million insider shares held by employees and early investors, worth roughly $100 billion and more than doubling the company's public float to about 11.8% of shares outstanding from 4.9%. Despite the added supply, SpaceX stock rose about 6.1% that day; further tranches unlock on August 31, September 10, September 25, October 10, October 25 and a full 180-day unlock on December 8, 2026.
