Tesla extends Cybertruck warranty after charging system defect

Tesla said on August 7 that the power conversion system (PCS) in 2024-2025 Cybertrucks, which converts AC charging power to DC and supports the truck's 48-volt electrical system, does not meet its reliability standards, and extended the PCS warranty on those model years to 8 years or 150,000 miles. The company will reimburse owners who already paid out of pocket for PCS repairs, a redesigned PCS ships on 2026 model year trucks under a standard 7-year/70,000-mile warranty, and a software update now keeps Supercharging available even if the PCS fails.
