Unitree unveils record-setting Superman humanoid before IPO debut
Unitree Robotics unveiled a new humanoid prototype nicknamed Superman on August 17 in Hangzhou, built in just over three months, which the company says reached a top speed of 12.66 meters per second and a 2-meter standing jump, edging past Usain Bolt's peak sprint speed of about 12.42 meters per second by Unitree's own unverified measurement. The reveal lands days ahead of Unitree's planned trading debut on Shanghai's STAR Market, following an IPO priced at 150.80 yuan per share that raised roughly $904 million.
