Tesla preps Cybercab public launch in Austin this month
Tesla has told employees it is gearing up for a Cybercab public rollout in Austin as soon as August 2026, The Information reported August 17. The plan starts with staff rides on public roads before folding Cybercabs into the existing Austin Robotaxi service days later, following months of employee rides confined to the private Giga Texas campus where more than 245 units have been staged; the internal end-of-August target could still slip.
