BYD raises 2026 overseas target toward 2 million

Deutsche Bank analysts citing BYD management said the company now expects 1.9 million to 2.0 million overseas sales in 2026, up from 1.3 million guided in January and 1.5 million in March, and more than 2.5 million overseas in 2027. January-August overseas sales reached 1,162,260 vehicles, up 85.72% year over year, including a record 189,466 in August. Management said Hungary assembly is expected in November or December, the Indonesia plant has started, and Brazil is ramping toward 300,000 vehicles a year, while a roughly 250,000-unit flash-charge backlog is still gated by Blade 2 battery supply until early 2027.
