UK grid operator extends Palantir Foundry without tender
Britain's publicly owned National Energy System Operator awarded Palantir a 17.7 million pound contract (21.2 million pounds including VAT) without competition to keep licensing and supporting Connections and Skip Rates on Foundry. The deal runs from September 8, 2026 to July 31, 2027, with six-month extensions available to July 31, 2028, while NESO prepares a competitive replacement expected to start July 31, 2027. NESO said Palantir has the specialist knowledge to maintain the platform, which transferred from National Grid ESO in 2023, and that the extension does not lock in the long-term supplier.
