WeRide plans 10,000 Saudi robotaxis by 2030
WeRide CFO and international head Jennifer Li told AGBI the company plans 7,000 to 10,000 robotaxis in Saudi Arabia by 2030, versus about 100 vehicles in Riyadh by the end of 2026. Service, launched last year with Uber and local partner Ai Driver from the airport, is set to expand into central Riyadh's Olaya district and into Qiddiya next year, while WeRide also runs autonomous buses in AlUla. Li said Robosweeper units were recalled for upgrades to handle Gulf dust and sand.
