Pony.ai runs first no-operator Doha robotaxi rides
At Qatar's Autonomous e-Mobility Forum in Doha from September 7 to 9, 2026, Pony.ai and national operator Mowasalat offered the city's first robotaxi rides without an onboard safety operator, using Gen-7 vehicles. Passengers can already book Pony.ai robotaxis through Mowasalat's Karwa app covering historic Doha, the business district, tourist sites and Hamad International Airport, which Pony.ai calls its first at-scale commercial program outside China. Qatar's transport ministry said in July that fully driverless commercial operations are the next stage after the current service exceeded safety and satisfaction expectations.
