UK minister links Palantir mistrust to NHS opt-outs

Health innovation minister James Frith told Commons health committee chair Layla Moran that about 60,000 additional people used the National Data Opt-Out between mid-May and mid-July 2026, a rise he said moved in line with media interest in Palantir's NHS Federated Data Platform. Frith said he was worried about mistrust of the company and the impact on patients' willingness to share data with the NHS. The opt-out covers research and planning use rather than direct care.
