LG Energy and Hyundai start used-battery ESS pilot
Hyundai Motor, Kia, LG Energy Solution, Hyundai Engineering and Wonik PNE launched Korea's first used-battery energy storage pilot tied to EV fast charging on September 10, 2026 at Wonik PNE's Hwaseong site. The 200 kWh UBESS uses retired E-GMP packs, stores power in off-peak hours and feeds fast chargers at peak rates.
