Waymo stops San Francisco ride over loaded firearm

San Francisco police arrested two juveniles in the Outer Richmond after a Waymo robotaxi pulled over and alerted officers shortly before 4 a.m. on September 3. A Waymo spokesperson told the Los Angeles Times the vehicle detected a terms-of-service violation involving a firearm, stopped, and cooperated with police, who said they recovered a loaded AR-style ghost gun plus suspected marijuana and mace spray. Both passengers were booked into juvenile hall; the investigation remains open.
