XPeng opens first megawatt charging station in Hong Kong

XPeng said on September 16 that it has opened its first X-Energy megawatt charging station anywhere, built with local operator Halo in Hong Kong and open to drivers of all brands. The station peaks at 1 megawatt and 1,000 amps and carries 400 kWh of on-site storage, which holds its grid connection to 240 kW and avoids costly distribution upgrades in a city where land and grid timelines have long blocked high-power charging. Chairman He Xiaopeng has said the same X-Energy hardware will follow in Europe, where XPeng is targeting more than 1,000 self-operated stations across 13 countries, though no XPeng model can yet accept megawatt charging.
