CATL discloses 1.4 billion yuan Ya'an lithium-salt plant

The Ya'an Economic and Technological Development Zone published the first environmental-impact-assessment disclosure for a CATL Ya'an Lithium Salt Production Base, Mysteel reported on September 16. CATL (Ya'an) New Materials Technology plans to invest 1.4 billion yuan beside Gongxing Road in the Yongxing Industrial Zone for about 40,000 tonnes a year of lithium carbonate, 30,000 tonnes of lithium dihydrogen phosphate, and 130,000 tonnes of anhydrous sodium sulfate on about 350 mu. The notice is only the first public EIA step: it does not grant approval or mark a construction start, and the disclosure did not give a timeline, funding mix, or feedstock plan.
