Westinghouse and PEJ agree main terms for Poland AP1000 plant

The Westinghouse-Bechtel consortium and Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe agreed on 23 September 2026 on the main commercial terms of the engineering, procurement and construction contract for Poland's first nuclear power plant. The project is a three-unit AP1000 plant totaling 3,750 MWe at Lubiatowo-Kopalino in Pomerania; the parties said remaining EPC terms should be finished by year-end and PEJ said first electricity is expected in 2036. The agreement is not a signed construction contract: PEJ said it covers key commercial and legal issues and paves the way for further negotiation of exhibits, while site preparatory work continues after Bechtel took over the site in August.
