AMD Ryzen AI Max PCs gain Perplexity Portable Computer

AMD said on September 24 that Perplexity's Portable Computer local agent software now runs on Windows PCs powered by AMD Ryzen AI Max Series processors, including the Ryzen AI Halo developer platform. Perplexity, an untracked software partner, said local inference does not consume Computer credits and is available to Pro and Max subscribers. Jon Peddie Research reported a 24 GB GPU-accessible memory requirement and that neither company published performance figures for the Ryzen AI Max configuration.
