FAA reviews Blue Origin bid for 50 New Glenn launches a year

On September 29, 2026 the FAA published a Federal Register notice and draft environmental assessment of Blue Origin's proposal to modify vehicle operator license VOL 24-133 and raise the New Glenn cap at Cape Canaveral Space Launch Complex 36 from 12 to 50 launches a year. The Proposed Action also covers associated static-fire testing, downrange first-stage ocean-platform landings, payload-fairing recovery and related airspace closures, and would not include new construction. Comments close October 30, 2026, with a virtual public meeting on October 22; completing the environmental review would not by itself grant the license modification.
