California taps ICEYE for statewide disaster intelligence

Governor Gavin Newsom said Oct. 6 that California signed an agreement with ICEYE so Cal OES can receive near-real-time flood and wildfire intelligence through clouds, smoke, or darkness, and share it across statewide emergency operations. An ICEYE spokesperson told Via Satellite the deal is a data-and-services subscription for Cal OES and all California state agencies, after a February onboarding. ICEYE's Oct. 8 statement added that Flood Insights, Flood Rapid Impact, and Wildfire Insights can now be shared across state agencies. Contract value and term were not disclosed. ICEYE's own newsroom listing did not surface the PR in this run.
