Apple tightens App Store rules on AI nudification apps
On Oct. 16, 2026 Apple said Guideline 1.2 now requires apps to prevent and remove nonconsensual intimate imagery, including imagery made with AI tools. New Guideline 2.5.19 says hidden or undocumented features, including capabilities added after review, can lead to removal from the App Store and the Apple Developer Program. Apple also said apps that facilitate human trafficking or the exploitation of children will be blocked from alternative distribution. Apple described the changes as extensions of existing bans on pornography and bait-and-switch apps.
