Current status
Mid-size configuration and the basis for NuScale's lead project: Romania's six-module RoPower plant at Doicesti cleared a Final Investment Decision in early 2026. NuScale's Q2 2026 10-Q still says it will not restart work until a financed pre-EPC is signed. That path now depends on Bucharest: Nuclearelectrica's September 11 EGM published the control-body report criticizing Doicesti governance, a September 14 Bursa recap described a shareholder-dispute blockage, and the Energy Ministry is due to evaluate FID conditions at the end of September. Further interest remains in South Korea and Kazakhstan.
