Pony.ai resets robotruck plan, unveils CATL-built light truck
Pony.ai disclosed at an August 3 media briefing that it now expects to deploy 500 to 1,000 Gen-4 autonomous heavy-duty trucks over the next two to three years across long-haul freight, bulk-commodity and port logistics in China, scaled back from its earlier late-2026 mass-production target. The company also unveiled a new automotive-grade L4 light-duty truck built on CATL's Kunshi chassis platform for urban logistics, targeting 100,000 units by 2030.
