Pony.ai starts fully driverless Zagreb robotaxi tests

Pony.ai and Verne said on September 10, 2026 they have started fully driverless robotaxi test rides with invited passengers on public roads in Zagreb, a European first with no onboard safety operator. The tests run on a 22-kilometer route linking Verne's headquarters and a central business district with Franjo Tudman Airport, with plans to expand across the city's operating area in the coming months. Since the operator-onboard commercial service launched in April, the fleet has logged more than 200,000 kilometers, several thousand customer rides and a 4.7 out of 5 average rating on Uber.
