NIO's ES9 flagship SUV passed 20,000 cumulative deliveries in the week of August 4, just 73 days after deliveries began on May 28, with the second batch of 10,000 arriving in about six weeks versus roughly four weeks for the first. Basketball Hall of Famer Yao Ming, the ES9's Chief Experience Officer, locked in his own order on the night of the May 27 launch but did not take delivery until August 5 due to strong demand, with top trims still facing waits of 13 to 14 weeks.
