Japan weighs Palantir and Anduril AI for military command

Japan's government is considering deploying Palantir's Maven Smart System, which analyzes intelligence and recommends targets and tactics, and Anduril's Lattice, which fuses sensor data and coordinates autonomous assets, within its Self-Defense Forces command and control structure, Nikkei Asia reported in early August. The proposal aims to close a decision-speed gap with US forces and is expected to feature in revisions to Japan's national security strategy later this year, while Tokyo separately develops a domestic alternative based on Sakana AI.
