Westinghouse's eVinci picked for Army's Janus microreactor plan

Westinghouse Government Services said on August 26 that its eVinci heat-pipe microreactor was selected for the next phase of the US Army's Janus Program, with a planned deployment at Fort Drum, New York. The Army has mobilized up to $2.2 billion over five years to build and operate more than 20 commercial nuclear microreactors across five initial military sites, coming two days after eVinci completed zero-power criticality testing at the Nevada National Security Site.
