Nvidia targets 2 GW of AI factories in Australia
Nvidia said on September 9, 2026 it is working with Australian cloud and data-center partners including Firmus, Sharon AI, IREN, Megaport, ResetData, CDC, NEXTDC and AirTrunk to expand land, power and shell capacity for NVIDIA DSX AI factories, targeting up to 2 gigawatts by 2027. Reuters said that would more than double Australia's current 1.6 GW of computing capacity, citing lobby group Data Centres Australia. Partners will operate the sites; Nvidia supplies the DSX platform, accelerated computing, networking and software.
